Listed below are the blue flag beaches that stretch the length of southern Spain they are all listed by the Costas so that you can find them and at the bottom of this page all the blue flag beaches are listed in alphabetical order by place name. Coming soon, a map with all locations of the beaches marked.

The blue flag distinction, is awarded for the quality of the water, hygienic conditions and services for tourists.

Q for Quality Beaches

Cartagena, Murcia

Although the city itself is only Port, it includes part of La Manga del Mar Menor. Cartagena has the record of being the Spanish town with the most beaches certified with the “Q for Quality” by the ICTE It has a total of ten, which are listed below:

El Portús beach is also near the Cartagena’s municipal district.

Almeria

The most Fantastic beaches can be found at Carboneras it has fine sandy beaches streching almost 17 km along the coast. The beach El Ancon Has a blue Flag and Q for quality award.
Las Marinicas is the widest and the biggest at nearly 3km long is El Algarrobico which is on the road to Mojacar.Los Muertos is a nudist beach and can be reached by a 1 km hike or by boat.
Los Muertos and El Algarrobico form part of the Natural park at Cabo de Gata.

Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park is a nature reserve near Almería, Spain. It is the largest terrestrial-maritime reserve in the European Western Mediterranean Sea,
